My friend who sat with me every day left me without warning as soon as someone else invited her, and even though she didn't mean to hurt me, it really stuck with me. The girl she was sitting with was talking about another person in a way that made me feel sick. I don't know who it was or what was happening, but I really felt like that's not a way to talk about someone behind their back. I had to do something. When I said to maybe try understanding why the other person was bothering her instead of listing all of her flaws out loud to the entire bus, she snapped at me and told me that it was none of my business. She was right, it wasn't. But I would've done it again any day. She stopped being friends with me after that, and I'm glad that she did. She's truly a wonderful person, but this one incident just made me feel a sudden rage at the injustice of these people today. It made me feel like every time I was trying to help someone, I was giving someone else an excuse to call me something I'm not. And so, immediately after, I remember just sitting at my piano, playing octaves and tritones, until I made this and ran upstairs. While I was writing, someone else who was my friend at the time had texted me, saying that the girl on the bus was really mad at me. Then I just wished everyone would leave me alone. I just wanted to figure out: what's so wrong about being a decent person?? Nothing's wrong about it. It's just not normal. Please don't be normal.
