i was inactive for 2 weeks and i guess this happened… thank you scratch for the feature!! ;-; No ads, please :) They create too much clutter. To all my viewers and commenters, thank you so much! I won’t be able to reply to them all (this is the first time I’ve ever had to say this) but just know that I appreciate it. And thank you for breaking my mail record too hahahaha. (More detailed response to comments below) — Wavelength v2 This project is an adaptation of the popular board game called "Wavelength". This is a multiplayer game; IT CANNOT BE PLAYED ALONE, YOU WILL NEED A FRIEND IRL. And no, this is not a memory game. HOW TO PLAY WAVELENGTH If you don't know already, here are a set of (hopefully comprehensible) instructions: 1. On both sides of the wheel, think of a contradictive/opposite/different statement. (For example, hot on the right and cold on the left) Keep them in mind, both you and your partner. 2. Tell your partner to close their eyes or look away. Spin the wheel and remember where the shaded triangle is. Press "Go!" when you are ready. 4. Tell your partner to open their eyes. They shouldn't be able to see where the shaded triangle is. 5. Your partner now has to guess where the triangle is. To do this, you will give them a hint. For example, using hot (right side) and cold (left side), if your triangle is at about leaning left, you could say something like "iced tea". If it is at leaning right, you could say something like "boiling water". 6. Your partner moves the red pointer based on your hint. After they are ready, press on the green tick (or space if you are on PC) and the wheel will reveal where the shaded triangle is. 7. The point of this game is to think like each other (hence, to be on the same "wavelength"). You will be rewarded points based on how good your hint was. 4 points if your partner got it on blue, 3 for orange and 2 for yellow. 8. Press "Again" to restart—now it is your partner's turn to give you hints and yours to guess! Have fun! For playing with 3 to 4 players, you can decide whether the player whose turn is after yours is your guesser or however you may want to organise it. The only rule is to make sure you have fun!!! CREDITS - Text engine and number counter from @griffpatch - Music is "silly cat" by Carpe - Sound effects provided by Scratch - Settings icon costume by @kayceepoon11 - The people who created Wavelength — THANK YOU FOR THE FEATURE! I've always made silly and simple projects on Scratch merely for my own enjoyment; the sole reason I even made this in the first place was to play with my friends and family. I would never have in a million years expect a project of mine to blow up like this, so thank you so much to the Scratch team! This is literally my childhood dream!!! RESPONSE TO COMMENTERS (17.7.26) Hi friends! I've just skimmed through my comment section, and I want to thank you all who left me feedback. Although, I would like to clarify some things: I noticed many have asked about adding a single player or online mode. While I understand that some users may not be able to play with IRL players, I have never planned and still don't plan to make a single player mode, as the closest way I can think to somewhat keep the main point of the game—socialising with people you are close with—is, also mentioned by several commenters, an AI bot. Whether or not making an AI on Scratch is possible, I would kindly ask you to refrain from starting conflicts or arguments with others. Aside from my personal skill issue, I believe that the addition of AI bots or making it an online game would make the game lose its charm of socialising, bonding, and finding fun amongst playing with people you are close with in real life, which is why I will not be adding either of those features. Last thing, please, no ads and don't spam. I don't do "f4f" either. — Wavelength v1 WHAT'S NEW TO WAVELENGTH V2 - You can now play with up to 3 other players! - 30 default themes available - Display custom themes - Manual reveal option (Drag open the wheel by hand) - Respin feature - Better graphics (Intro animation, decorative effects) - 2 different gamemodes: PC and mobile - Added music and more sound effects — OTHERS (28.6.26) I discovered Cat Blocks while making this and I'm never going back. When I was trying to code griffpatch's text engine, I spent about 10 minutes trying to figure out why it had suddenly stopped working only to realise that I've deleted half of the scripts from a define block on accident. (I did not have a copy) I also intentionally made it so that if the pointer is right between 3 and 4, it's counted as a 3. You're welcome.
