︵︵︵︵︵︵︵︵︵︵︵︵︵︵︵︵︵︵︵︵︵︵︵︵ Q1: What's your favourite genre/genres? A: I like (reading) historical fiction and (writing) mystery (and fiction, and sometimes fantasy, like magic themes) Q2: Have you ever finished writing a story? A: uhhhhhhhh DO YOU HAVE A WARRANT FOR THAT INFORMATION?? I’ve almost finished the first draft of a novel (that I kinda abandoned, I swear I’ll come back for it!), and also the first drafts of two short stories, and two other short stories (that I called novels basically) when I was in like 3rd grade. UPDATE!! yay I finally started draft 2... Q3: First person POV, second person POV, or third person POV? A: Typically, first person, but sometimes the story just calls for third person, y’know? Q4: Do you have a favourite author? If so, who? A: That’s a tough question! I think I have favorite books rather than authors, but I really like Karen M. McManus One of Us Is Lying (the book is meant to be read by older kids though) and Jessica Khoury (who wrote on or my favorite book series, Skyborn (book one is called Sparrow Rising, check it out!)) Q5: Do you want to be a writer when you're older? A: Nope. I want to be an AUTHOR when I’m older! I’ve wanted to be an author for a loooooooooooooooooong time. It’s literally my biggest (cough cough only) goal in life. Q6: Do you have any advice for writers? If so, what is it? A: Uhhhh… stay in school, don’t quit your day job, and don’t try this at home? Well okay, first, you can’t edit a blank page. Remember that first drafts are for getting your story down! And also, writing should make you feel happy! If you feel stressed, maybe put it down for a bit? Q7: When it comes to writing, are you a perfectionist? A: Sorry, I can’t answer this because if I do, I’ll spend five years making sure I answer the question perfectly. Q8: Have you shared a story on scratch before? A: Don’t think so, but I’m planning on! Q9: What's your favourite plot structure? (7 point plot structure, hero's journey plot structure, etc) A: My favorite plot structure is called “what’s plot?” Q10: What's your inspiration? A: The random ideas that pop into my head at the worst times. Q11: Do you like making graphic novels/comics? A: YES!!!! Q12: Poetry, or story writing? A: (Here have a haiku) Once upon a time WHY ARE YOU MAKING ME CHOOSE?? I like both of them…. Q13: Fiction or non-fiction? A: FICTION! Q14: What's your favourite book/series? A: Oh I answered that in #4 well, like I said, Skyborn by Jessica Khoury. Q15: Do you believe in writers block? A: 100%! Q16: What about reader's block? A: Woah I’ve never heard that term before! I mean yeah probably Q17: Do you like putting references in your stories? (references to other books, a movie, songs, etc) A: Not really? I don’t know, I don’t like to set my stories in the “real world”, so I don’t like to reference McDonalds or Walmart and stuff. If all my stories were set in the real world, then my characters would meet, and we can’t have that. Q18: Do you like writing chapter books? A: Yes! Q19: Realistic fiction or unrealistic fiction? A: Both? Q20: Have you ever written a character based on someone in real life? A: Yes! But only vaguely, edit: ??? who is this character, Batty??? Q21: Do you give MBTI personality types to your characters? A: Nope Q22: Writing in a notebook or writing on google docs? A: Google docs when I have access to technology, otherwise, I do like writing in a notebook. Q23: What do you think is the best thing for someone to do when they get writers block? A: Step away from it for a bit. *edit: the 20-20-20 rule! Take a 20 minute break, throw your computer off a 20-mile cliff, then spend 20 years in the forest! Q24: When did you realize you wanted to be a writer? A: My uncle was an author, so that’s really how I figured out I wanted to be one. When he passed away, I knew in my heart I would be an author as an adult. *edit: ya its sappy ik Q25: Do you have a lot of OCs? A: I’d say (but I have friends with over 200) Q26: Do you have a lot of stories you are writing? A: There’s more story documents than school documents in my Google drive atp Q27: What's the most difficult part of planning a story? A: When you don’t plot and realize that was the worst decision of your life. *edit: 2nd draft and still not plotting! Q28: Do you do journaling? A: Eh, sometimes. My phone’s journal app is mostly filled with quotes. For example! “Schoolwork is more important than writing your novel.” (Says my friend, WHO’S LYING!!!!) Q29: Do you write in one specific way/theme, or lots of different ways/themes? e.g. fantasy, third person, non-fiction, first person, second person, fiction, etc A: Hmmmm well I always abandon stories before I finish them so that’s a hard question. But I do write first person most of the time. Q30: Do you find it hard to write the first chapter/ prologue? A: Nope. I find it harder to write the REST of the story.
Q31: Have you drawn your characters before? A: Yes!! Q32: Have you roleplayed with your characters before? A: Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes.. Q33: Do you think you take way too long planning what to write instead of actually writing? A: Nope! I spend too much time writing instead of planning what to write. A: What do you mean “a new way”? I used to only write “novels” (which I never finished) and now I’m trying short stories. edit: back to the novels again lol Q38: What, in your opinion, is the most fun theme to write about? (not genre. A theme is like war, coming of age, good vs evil, family, etc) A: Uhhh hold up lemme look up themes… crud I don’t know, I’ve never written a specific theme… Q39: Have you written characters with sad backstories? A: My characters hate me because I give them all tr@uma.. Q40: Have you ever written yourself in a story? A: Nope Q41: Do you usually unintentionally make a side character more interesting than a main character? A: Uhhhhhhhhhhhh… my antagonist is literally more interesting than the main character, if that counts… Q42: Have you ever written a character as something other than a human? A: I tried to write a WOF fanfic in 5th, and I think I tried to write a cat story once? Q43: Have you ever written the main character as the villain before?
