If you're going to comment "But it's not just HYBE!" you're missing the point. nobody cares if there are other companies that are just as bad or worse. dont use it as a deflection. Also, I'm not telling you that your opinion doesn't matter but please hear me out much love. ♡⃞ chapter 1 : I think Hybe is one of the most musically frustrating companies in K-pop right now. And yes, before someone jumps me, I know companies like SM and YG exist too. every company has problems. SM has been creatively stagnant lately, and YG has been recycling the same formula for years, but at least those companies give you actual songs. SM allows songs to breathe, to escalate, and to have exciting build ups. they iunderstand bridges and tension. Hybe feels obsessed with speedrunning their music. everything was specifically built for the algorithm. Calling some of Hybe's tracks short is generous. they barely start before they end, because some of them don't even sound finished. The bar for Hybe to not ruin a song has become so low that there is no bar anymore. Hybe does give great choreography though. Does anyone know who New Jeans' choreographer is? I'm getting off-topic sorry but like, their choreography was so natural without being boring. The company clearly has talented people, stylists, song writers, and visual directors. It seems like hybe is becoming more and more terrified of letting songs flow naturally. everything has to be immediate. immediate hooks, virality, and replay ability, which causes there to be no personality. songs don't commit to concepts, there's no emotion, it feels robotic. Most of it is engeneered around edits, clips, and streaming retention. but once a trend ends, the music dies and becomes old news. The beginning of the end for Hybe was definitely gnarly, imo. What annoys me about the "You just don't get it" defense is that I do understand that gnarly is supposed to be campy, chaotic, and unserious. My issue is that the song still sounds bad. I understand the concept, I just don't know why i've never been convinced. If gnarly had no performance attached to it and it you just played the track, people would hate it even more. Thats why i think hybe prioritizes moments over music. everything needs to be iconic, memeable, viral, or gaggy. internet girl proves this, because katseye has genuinely talented members and hybe is wasting the potential they said the girls had. hybe is obbsessed with chasing trends wether people want to admit it or not ‧ . . ⊹ㅤㅤ.ㅤ ‧ ₊ . ‧ ₊ ㅤ. ૮ ․ ․ ྀིა ♡⃞ chapter 2 : Hybe has an inability to debut groups without minors. atp it feels less accidental. this is a reoccuring pattern. the younger trainees get pushed more than older trainees, even when the older trainees are arguable more skilled and prepared for debut. I am not hating on the younger idols. Take Enhypen for example. their leader debuted at 16 yo. this shows how comfortable companies are with giving trainees positions that are too much for their youth. The judges constantly favored the youth, their 'star quality', growth, and potential. It makes me uncomfortable even when they debut groups with minors and give them mature concepts and styling. its giving p3dop!le behavior ㅤㅤ ‧ . . ⊹ㅤㅤ.ㅤ ‧ ₊ . ‧ ₊ ㅤ. ૮ ․ ․ ྀིა ♡⃞ chapter 3 : K-pop is having an identity crisis. not too long ago, a kpop group had a song weird supposedly a member said the word "neighbors" or the Korean word for I instead of the n word. And as a black person, that is the worst thing you could say as a non-black person. I don't want to hear "Oh but the official lyrics DO say neighbor" That's not the point. That member wrote those lyrics. there were so many different options and yet that is the one he chose (the line says "all my neighbors wanna know" btw but he could've chosen "everybody wanna know" or "all the people wanna know"). Korean music is completely capable of adding their own ethnic sounds into their own music, so why steal ours? Please know who you are before taking from people's culture that you're not a part of ㅤㅤ ‧ . . ⊹ㅤㅤ.ㅤ ‧ ₊ . ‧ ₊ ㅤ. ૮ ․ ․ ྀིა ۫ . ۫ ₊ . ₊ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ⠀. ♪ ͟reds :: ಎ desc inspo by ㅤㅤ ‧ . . ⊹ㅤㅤ.ㅤ ‧ ₊ . ‧ ₊ ‿︵ㅤ. ♡⃞ ㅤ゜ . ˚ ݁ ˖ .⠀ ౨ৎ ︶︶︶︶︶︶ ♡⃞ ︶︶︶︶︶︶ ꩜ you have reached the end of this proj. ︶︶︶ ︶︶︶ ︶︶︶ ︶︶︶ ♡⃞ © ™ 2026 ♡⃞
