Hello hello! I'm Derek, I've been a designer since about January of this year. I am of the EST time zone (east coast best coast!) and I am under 17 but over 13. I once was a paid moderator of a very very popular debate server offsite (it consists of several thousand members), however I stepped down due to stress. I have managed several small(er) chat studios in my 6 year scratch career. I would like to become a manager of DBD because I have dealt with conflicts consisting of both adults and minors, so I'm comfortable saying that I can stay calm during disagreements. I am good with de-escalation, which I believe is an essential tool. Often I linger and simply observe chat, so I could use that to stop things before they start (if possible, of course). I am also quite swell at working in a team and collaborating with my peers. I believe that being a manager would entail sacrificing many hours into watching and moderating the studio, having to deal with difficult people, making hard decisions occasionally, and that it could certainly add lots of stress to one's life. I believe I would be a good manager, however everyone has their faults. Personally, mine are that I can overthink things or second-guess myself. I also care quite deeply about the topic I'm interested in, however I make an effort not to let my personal interests or feelings affect my moderation. Most ideas I had previously had either have been implemented or been shot down, but one that remains is that we should lean more into the punishment/reward system. If we do days where we celebrate having good behavior throughout the week, I believe it would encourage more people to follow the rules and/or contribute positively. Hmm, well, I am often able to be active most anytime. Perhaps an 8/10. Thank you for reading and considering me! Please, have a great rest of your day.
PS: I am also @Hello4373, I am on this account because I like it a lot haha.
