Chia's Lore: From a very young age, Chia was discriminated by others from her view or way of seeing things. Affected by this, she decided to stay mute, never to speak again. As time grew on she was diagnosed with elective mutism, forcing more expectations and barriers she did not know how to overcome at the time. Now, 17 years old, she has perfected to use Alien Sign Language to communicate, expressing herself, but holding back from ever speaking freely, feeling as if her diagnosis is all she’ll ever be.
