what was the point anymore really. hya curled around her kits, fury bubbling in her veins. drago, sora, her kits. they were gone. gone where she couldnt go gone where she couldn't curl up with them gone where she couldn't smile at them gone where her laugh would never reach their ears gone where her eyes would never gaze upon them gone where her tail would never curl around theirs gone where her ears would no longer flick at their arrival gone where her life was going to evaporate to gone where her crystal certainty would never alight their eyes gone where she couldn't go yet gone gone gone gone ---------- hya stalked across camp, the heavy stench of grief in the air. with a snort of contempt, she flung an albatross onto the fresh-kill pile and padded to sleep. she slept dreamlessly, which was neither a curse nor a blessing. 'sth-' a sharp intake of breath. there was a clear rage in her soul, clearer than it'd been since /he/ died. she padded out of camp, not blundering, but mindlessly. she didn't take note of her surroundings, just brushing through tree-branches and other things that clawed at her pelt like the claws of her dead kin. she stepped onto a cliff-edge, moon sharply glittering at her. with a drop in her stomach, she heard a disembodied voice- wait was that pidge's voice? it sounded... unreal. like an echo of her own voice. 'goodnight.' it hissed. her paw plunged off the edge, and she plummeted. she twisted and landed lithely, breath fogging leaf-bare air that sliced her lungs like shards, or the words of her nightmares where her kits cried out to her to save them, didn't she love them, weren't they all she needed in her life, did she even care? a stone pierced her paw, making it profusely bleed, staining every pawstep bloodred. hya padded aimlessly across the territory, the pain getting dulled with every foxlength she walked. she padded through the secret beach, which wasn't too far from the cliff, and finally she paused, at /that/ rock, on the flurryclan... on the /old/ flurryclan border. she curled up, the cold working through her body like flame, chilling her as she blinked at the moon. hya's breath stuttered, her soul shivered, and finally her worn, well-loved body slumped and finally ceased to move. her fur, creamy and cold, moved a little in the wind, while her face was peaceful. it was the face of peace that had told her kits stories at night, the face of peace that had tried not to smile at drago, it was the face of peace that had been her whole soul. hya blinked once, the moon, blinked again, and she was in the dark forest. she wasn't scared.... not yet. for now, she felt the peace she had died with. she was happy.
