my honest, spoiler-free (though a little detailed) thoughts on isttvg
IMO!!!! it was a great movie, but i think it either takes a second/multiple watches or seeing other's reactions to fully appreciate it. i will say that it's pretty slow paced, but i feel like it sets the scene a lot better, and made it feel more realistic in a movie that is meant to unsettle you. i thought it was amazing and it had a lot of deeper meanings that i don't think would be very easy for many cis people to understand (not saying ALL). I'm still not sure how much i liked the ending but i really liked all the characters and i think it's a must watch if you're Trans and like horror <3 furthermore, i honestly understand why a lot of people don't like it, i almost didn't like it and o honestly liked the beginning more than the end, but that's mostly because i related with a main character that the story doesn't follow or like narrate or whatever the movie was really deep and i think that if you don't understand the movie at LEAST a little bit before watching it, you won't like it the lighting choices were all amazing and i saw a review that commented on the acting being poor but i couldn't agree less, i felt that the acting told stories that words couldn't like there were some parts of the movie that, if played by different people, could definitely be left up to interpretation, and while they still kind of can, the acting, again, tells that story rather than the words it gets into a lot of topics that other media is scared to and i honestly respect that a lot, especially when finding good representation and work that isn't ai is hard right now also i liked every song like I'm usually pretty picky about what dvds I'll get just because i want to make sure I'll actually watch them, but I'm super debating on getting the DVD for this
