Today, July 16, would have been my dear Meeka’s birthday. She would have been six years old, but sadly she died on April 27th this year. The sad thing is I never got to say goodbye. I’d give anything to have. But I’ve made peace with it, and know the reality of it. I hope Meeka’s all good in Heaven, and she’s having the best time ever up there, because that’s what she deserves. She didn’t make a fuss about her death, and went to the patio to sleep in the sun. My mum was at her side when she died. I love her so much. So very much. The duck in the beautiful drawing I got is Ducky— Meeka’s favourite teddy. It disappeared right before she died, and Millah found it. It has been Millah’s favourite ever since. Fly high, my beautiful girl and have a peaceful birthday, know I love you dearly <3 I really hope you are running around with Rex, Charlie, and Molly and Lua, and chasing Tobey (my bird) around and letting him perch on your back like you used to.
My friends, that I haven’t seen for seven months since I don’t live in the town anymore, are coming over to meet Millah. I love Millah so much, she’s 17 weeks old now. She can finally meet dogs! I’m really excited for her to meet Daisy and Violet, my aunties Rescue Kelpies! I’m going to make Millah ‘doggy ice cream’ otherwise known as Greek Yogurt topped with half a jerky stick. She loves Greek Yogurt so much, like Meeka did.
