WELL LUCKY DAY !! i can explain it for u along w/ sharing statuses ! yumeshipping : (my explanation) yumeshipping is when u ship urself (or an insert of urself , as i do w/ my main oc) w/ a fictional character ! its a form a coping ! (google explanation) Yumeshipping (also known as "self-shipping") is the practice of imagining yourself, or an original character (OC), in a relationship with an existing fictional character. The fictional love interest is commonly referred to as an "F/O" (Fictional Other). types of yumeshippers / sharing statuses ; (all google explanations) soft-sharers : In the yumeshipping community, "soft-sharing" refers to fans who are comfortable interacting with others who have the same F/O (Fictional Other), but prefer not to talk about or compare their shared romantic interests with those "doubles". mirror-sharing : Mirror-sharing is a policy in the self-shipping (or "yume") community where a person matches the sharing preference of anyone else who has a crush on the same character. If you encounter a "double" who doesn't want to share the character, you act non-sharing; if they are open to sharing, you engage openly. non-sharing : Non-sharing (often abbreviated as NS) means a yumeshipper is uncomfortable interacting with "doubles"—other people who also ship themselves with the same fictional character. (!! PERSONAL NOTE !! do NOT confuse non-sharers with toxic yumes ! toxic yumes do mean + bad stuff to their doubles ((a double is someone who ships themself w/ the same character as u do) while non-sharers jst block / not interact w/ their doubles) if there r other types , i can explain them .. but these r the main ones ik of- if yk other types , i can explain them or u can ask google nd get my reply on it ! i'll answer any other questions ppl may have-!! as for yumeshippers , all of y'all r canon xx <3
