Hi this is a HUGE idea dump for a loner group with just EVERYTHING I’ve written about it so far. Take with handful of salt lol things will get ironed out when I actually… like, do signups. I’m just throwing spaghetti at the wall rn The Empire A group beginning in Urchinclan. The goal of the group is to seek out truths and punish evil, while also following science and a less black and white view on Starclan and the Dark Forest. Overview: The Empire is a group of virtuous cats searching for a common law, an overarching principle of what good and evil is and how it should be handled. They push for a less black and white view on the clans’ religion, and for more scientific approaches to problems. They collect secrets and knowledge from anyone, no matter what walk of life, and dutifully record them to add to their collective knowledge. Throughout it all, they continue to show compassion and kindness to others, and it is seen as a duty to help pull others out of the mire and into the light. They believe nothing is certain, but it’s important to try to become certain. Cats not adhering to the Tenets are temporarily moved to the Rehabilitation Sector. The group is designed to be tight-knit even if there are distinct jobs and sub-groups. The Tenets - Put virtue above all, help those you can, and assist in the pursuit of truth and justice. - Refrain from violence and harassment. Fight only if necessary. - All cats have worth no matter their contribution, do not attempt to convince others to believe the opposite. - Betrayal of the group is a greatly disappointing act, to be punishable accordingly. - Crimes committed against the group are publicized, hiding a crime is unforgivable. Ranks - The Arbiter (highrank) The leader of the group, they are meant to have a lot of interaction with the cats in the group. Instead of giving a normal ceremony for cats ranking up, they should also give little personal notes about the cats if their roleplayers provide something. It is also their job to manage relations with other groups and watch over the Rehabilitation Sector, which is meant to rehabilitate criminals and take care of the sick. - Organization Sector The Organization Sector is responsible for assigning duties and ensuring they get carried out. They function collectively as an almost “deputy” role from a clan, but the next in line for leader is the manager of the Organization Sector. Selection of the manager is between the Arbiter and the Organization Sector, chosen through discussion. They also report trainee promotions to sectors from the Growth Sector, meaning they must coordinate with them to let the Arbiter know who is moving sectors. - Crafts Sector The Crafts Sector is responsible for the upkeep of the camp and the recording of knowledge. They also guard the camp. Camp decoration also falls under their jurisdiction, and they have to ascertain the safety of clan-made decoration not added by their sector. It is up to these cats to focus on patrolling to avoid safety fails. - Rehabilitation Sector The Rehabilitation Sector is a multipurpose agency for healing and the reintroduction of criminals into the society. Instead of punishments such as exile or imprisonment, Nym believes criminals should be given another chance- one where they’re better supported and able to thrive. Especially when life gets tough, cats are just trying to do what they must. Cats in this sector acting as caretakers or teachers can stay in the sector indefinitely, but it is the goal to move criminal cats out of the sector and into others eventually. - Growth Sector The Growth Sector is responsible for taking care of kits and training adolescents. Caretakers and teachers can stay in the sector indefinitely, but young cats will be moved out and into a new sector once they have been judged to have learned what they needed to. Trainee promotions need to be reported to the Organization Sector. - Militant Sector The Militant Sector is the cats responsible for fighting and hunting, as well as chasing off known invaders and predators. Spies can also be a part of this Sector, but are not officially recognized as separate. These cats must do frequent hunting patrols to avoid starvation events. - Trainees (Growth Sector) Trainees are young cats who have never been in a sector or older cats looking to switch sectors. They participate in training activities led by teachers in the Growth Sector, and are themselves a part of the Sector.
- Caretakers Exactly what it says on the tin. They take care of others. This can be as a healer or as a kitsitter, etc. They can be in the Growth Sector or the Rehab Sector. - Teachers Exactly what it says on the tin. They teach others new skills. Teachers can be in the Growth Sector or Rehabilitation Sector. In the Rehab Sector, they teach former criminals; in the Growth Sector they teach young cats or cats looking to switch sectors. - Director (highrank) Directors are the managers of each Sector. They are chosen through discussion between the Arbiter and the Sector it concerns. The Director of the Organization Sector is the next in line if the leader dies or steps down. Next in line order: Arbiter -> Director of Org Sec -> Director of Mil Sec -> Director of Crafts Sec -> Director of Growth Sec -> Director of Rehab Sec All of the Sectors are meant to coordinate and cooperate with each other, as the goal is a tight-knit group. Training Topics: - Overall (taught to everyone) The Empire’s Purpose The Empire’s History How The Empire Works - Organization Sector Diplomacy Conflict Resolution Management Coordination - Crafts Sector Construction Destruction Safety Defensive Structures Traps Border Patrolling Artisanal Studies (ex. Carving, dyeing) - Rehabilitation Sector Herb Finding, Recognizing, and Usage Injury Assessment Injury Prevention Emergency First-Aid Vocational Counseling - Growth Sector (Teachers) Vocational Counseling Caring for Kits Basic Life Skill Training (hunting/fighting) - Militant Sector Basic Combat Advanced Combat Ambush Tactics Hunting Predators Tracking Stealth and Infiltration What To Do if Captured Warfare Unique Traits of the Empire - Knowledge Collection Members must keep “journals” of all the info they collect [Preferred to keep in an unshared project or some other non-public space to prevent OORP knowledge leaking into INRP knowledge!] that isn’t common knowledge. To get them added to the collective knowledge, it has to happen INRP- your cat talks to a cat in the Crafts Sector (if you cat isn’t in it) and that cat must craft something that represents that knowledge. For instance, it could be a diorama, a written code, a drawing, etc. These threads should be reported so they can be added to a public project so others can have their cats visit these locations to learn about the secrets and anecdotes collected over time. Alternatively, the knowledge holder could tell the Arbiter the information and they can handle the rest. Passing information along orally (ex. Stories or songs) is also highly encouraged! - Teaching and Learning Teaching is a highly valued skill in the Empire, as learning about the world around them is a collective value. Learning itself is also valued, and nothing is too small to study. From bugs on the ground to birds in the sky, everything has its unique qualities. Unlike the clans, The Empire is a group with a distinct purpose that should never change. Changes in clan leadership often bring changes to clan structure and clan life, but with The Empire, it is always a knowledge seeking entity. It is uncharacteristically rigid. The Empire does not support violence like Urchinclan, sit back like Flurryclan, or have a secret watcher who can bring them back like Mossclan. Some OORP notes: Highly preferred to keep the group to its core values and goals cause like if it gets changed then like… it’s not the group anymore??? That’s what making other loner groups are for! Let’s be chill with the spying stuff, like, if someone tells you they don’t want to have a certain conversation spied on then respect it and don’t spy cause we want people to have fun.
