WATERLILY æ/ær 1. Contents 2. Design Changes 3. Backstory/Lore TW MENTIONS OF DEATH/DROWNING 2. Design So, I had an idea that when æ gets angry, ær flower markings change to vines. I also added some red fish into the watery areas because I just thought it was fun! 3. LORE!! Waterlily was only 10 moons old when æ drowned. Æ was searching the wilderness where æ and ær sister lived, looking for a new place to play hide and seek. But when æ stumbled upon a hidden spring, with the clearest waters æ had ever seen, æ became enraptured, and slipped into the spring. Æ drowned. But just after Waterlily had fallen in, æ saw a nymph, who told ær that they were the guardian of the spring, and protected it. They told Waterlily that I’d æ promised to guard the spring forevermore, then æ could live. Æ said yes, and as Waterlily came out of the pond, ær shape had changed. Waterlily had rippling water across ær legs, and shimmering lily markings on ær back. Waterlily also discovered that æ could control the waterlillies in the spring, and size shift to become larger. Æ knew what ær mission was, to guard the spring from all those who would wish to contaminate it, especially humans. The humans who have caught a glimpse of ær believe ær to be the spirit of a drowned maiden, and revere ær. These are the times that Waterlily wishes that æ could tell the humans that æ is not a maiden, and doesn’t want to be revered, æ just wants to keep ær new home safe. Æ eventually meets another spiritcat, Persimmon. Persimmon (he/it/they) is wonderful, and cares about the spring, and although he has an icy demeanour, it eventually comes to care deeply about waterlily, and Waterlily cares deeply about him. They adopt a kit, Sage, who wanders to the spring after being injured. They both take care of Sage, who becomes the guardian of the spring and gains healing powers after Waterlily and persimmon pass into the Other Realm. Thanks for reading! <3
