Hey guys. Here in the US summer is in full swing and last week the highs were 98-101 and it felt like 103+ most days. Now most sports can practice inside and be just fine, but unfortunately our sport cannot be done in an indoor setting, at least most of the time. In this update I spend time with my Scratch horse Shadow, and guide you through what an equestrian day could look like when it is super hot. [This update took hours to make, I had to make 2 new rider poses, fit a ton of tack and a bunch of other stuff.] 01. Bell went on a short walk with me to catch Shadow. It is WAY to hot to be in long pants so I found some athletic shorts and an over sized tee shirt for the day. IRL tip: don't wear white sneakers. 02. We? I caught Shadow and Bell went of and did something but who knows, there is a fence that she can't fit under around our whole property so she will be fine. 03. I put Shadow inside (this is literally what this costume is called for some reason lol). Today, I need to fit him to 2 things. For some reason, everything I have bought recently has been bright pink and I don't know why. I have never liked the color pink and I still don't really like it but who knows. Have of my horses tack is navy blue so shadow gets to be the fun one and have random colors. 04. Pink fly sheet, so cute but like its never gonna look this good again. 05. Super cute on him and fits him so well. The color of his halter works really nicely with that fly sheet too. 06. I got my other new tack set and fitted him to it. I was a little worried that the tree of this saddle would be to narrow, but it fit him just fine! 07. I then took all the tack off of him except his bridle. This boy is THE MOST comfortable bareback pony ever. If anyone has any novice level bareback shows, sign me up! 08-10. I popped on him bareback and walked around the little stream. IRL tip: riding without riding pants is fine, at least at most barns. Make sure you have closed toed shoes on and also always have a helmet. At my barn when its hot, a lot of people do this and just like scroll on top of a horse. I usually go for a walk around the field or just around the property. 11. Hosed him off, Bell helped so much, thank you Bell. he was sweat even though I was only on him for like 20 minutes. IRL tip: make sure your pony is properly cooled down before tacking up. Also if its going to be super hot, try to ride before 10:00 AM. 12. Turned him out to his pasture, in his fly rug! Credits: @retro-mushroom @Stxrry-Nightz- @Blue-Frosting-
