Hello Different by Delights, live from the backrooms, it's elsie. You may have heard the news that I am leaving the DbD managing team effective SOME TIME in the future. Boo Hoo as the kids say. So I'm just gonna get some sincere stuff out of the way so we can get to all the 'what does this mean' part just so I can share some more info on this decision. I am so so so grateful that the dbd managing team found me responsible enough to choose me. I was pretty last minute in that promotion cycle but my goat archer came through for me fast. It was lovely to serve community in that post for the four or so months I've been on the team, and I feel like I've been able to make some real change. I've gotten to know the community better, learn a lot about solving problems, getting over crises, the likes, and I am truly grateful for this opportunity. I love DbD, I know it's a little silly to say but it's fun to talk to you guys and the community has been there for me through a lot. So why am I leaving? Put simply, I'm turning into an ancient vessel of my spirit. I am 17, turning 18 in may, which, while far away, I do need to take seriously the fact that I am becoming an adult. Being on scratch has meant social media to me since I was a wee little 12 year old, roleplaying mafisto in Wandavision studios and I have been on scratch since I was seven(I broke community guidelines already <3) I do not want 7 year olds to be talking to eighteen year olds on scratch, period. especially not in communities where youngsters(as young as 8) feel confident enough to be vulnerable with. While I don't recommend this at all to children, as near-adults it's our responsibility to know when it's time to migrate, and for me, that's gonna be my birthday. Part of this decision has been informed by that idea, I'm distancing myself from dbd before the 20th of may so I can dip in peace, and I need to focus on school and stuff so having one less responsibility will be nice. Another part of this has been my behaviour. I have regularly broken rules and stuff(which, to my credit, I have been working on), I've gotten defensive over it, lashed out at people, I started a whole REALLY STUPID thread about how I don't like hivers posting screenshots offsite, which broke a bunch of vagueposting rules, and I realize that a lot of this has come from my bipolar disorder, during manic or depressive episodes, I tend to say stuff that breaks rules because I reach some imaginary moment of the straw that breaks the camels back which is not fair to dbders from their managers. As life gets harder and stressful, I just don't think I will be fit for managing in the future, especially with the aforementioned age problems. Sincere stuff over
Now, what does this mean for you and your family? q. will you still be working on mallworld a. Yeah lmao?? I have a bunch of projects. I will be keeping in touch with voice actors here even after I leave scratch to get lines n' stuff. For projects sake, production updates about my projects will be moving to my offsites. Feel free to ask for those, but zero promise I will give them, and I have a hard age limit at 13, and even then, contact will be mostly in public forums. q. What will happen to your scratch account a. this baby's staying up. I'm just not gonna use it much. you can look at my projects all you want. I might give life updates, but ideally all the dbders I want to talk to will have my offsites and will see my updates there. Tt-t-t-thats all
