Public speech by former president Proxima Centauri of the Impetus Party. Hello, Citizens of the Galaxy! Many of you are probably aware that I have chosen not to run for re-election this year. I know many of you are saddened by this (By my final polls while In office, about 60% of you, but that's probably changed by now), but all good things need to come to an end. I ran to bring change into our then-stagnating, rotting system, and I would be denying that goal by running once more. Many of you may remember the vast, sweeping changes I implemented. Better healthcare access. Free education mandatory even in colonies. Better workplace regulations and a higher minimum wage. I know my presidency is a time you all pine for, and I do to. But it's time for a change. I think the candidate who best represents my beliefs right now is Mister Fidel Alejandro Cacto, who has championed many key causes like anti-imperialism and government crackdowns on corporate malpractice. Consider this an official endorsement. Mister Cacto, in freeing his people from oppression, did what I never could. Many of you are aware that most of my kind were wiped out in the colonial era of the Alpha Centauri system. As it stands, I am their last living member, due to widespread people's rights abuses. I wish there had been a man like him in my time, for maybe then my people would still be here. I know for certain that I'll support him however I can in this election. I only ask of you to do the same. If you have any heart at all, if you can see all the good I brought into the Galaxy, then you'll vote for Cacto. He's twice the man I'll ever be. Thank you.
