YUMEHATE RANT so, I've seen the term "yumeship" before. while I don't like this community and it's associations, I'm not going to disrespect the people in it. However, there's apparently a term called "yumehate" which is fricking stupid. has the world devolved so much that we need a term to express hate for characters that aren't even real? If you don't like a character, then don't talk about it! You don't have to like them, heck, you can hate them, but you don't need to express that hate outwardly. it's disrespecting the creator of the character and puts people down that like the character. The world already has enough hate. we don't need more. PS if you're a yumehater or wtv it's called, dni PPS imagine working to create a character, then building up the confidence to actually publish media abt them online, only for people to express utter hatred towards them. I've seen this be done on characters that are sort of self inserts of the creators as well, which is so painful to see, because that person is putting a piece of themselves out there in the world, and then people just rag on them.
SILLY CARS HUMOUR RANT I dislike silly cars humour. Yes, I've said it. Now, will I be mean to those who use it? of course not. But I would strongly prefer if you don't use it with me. Reasons: 1. it includes things such as "I have [X disability] I'm so cute and quirky!" or similar statements but about things like spirits, dr.ugs, etc. Disabilities should NOT be romanticized. Addiction should NOT be normalized or romanticized. People d1e from overdose, t0xic d.rugs, w1thdrawal. Making a joke about it and how it's 'quirky' and 'cute' is deranged and disgusting. 2. (this is a personal thing) it is VERY hard to read. For me, trying to read it feels really difficult, and makes me frustrated and upset. It makes the text feel less accessible/comprehendible, which I don't like. 3. it is informal, therefore NOT appropriate in formal or serious discussions, which I have seen before. Using it in a formal setting indicates that you aren't as professional or formal. Using it in a serious setting indicates that (whether you intend it or not) you don't care, or treat it like a joke. Obviously people may not mean this, but using humour about a serious topic makes it into a joke, which could really hurt or offend the person bringing up the serious topic. 4. not really a reason why I don't like it, but people say it's a 'coping strategy that is involuntary.' I would like to say, typing quirks are NOT some involuntary result of trauma. The person fully chose to type like this. And, coping strategy? I feel this is a stretch, but idek atp (useage of numbers or characters was just to censor sensitive words!)
