Your father contracts a deadly illness, leaving you with only one option to save him, you would have to leave your home and go to the most unforgiving mountain range in the area to get a rare herb which would save his life. So you and your brother leave and brave the brutal mountain lying ahead of you. On the way there your brother is overcome by the cold of hypothermia and passes away. Upon returning to the village alone holding onto the guilt of seeing your beloved brother die you are met with the villagers grief and wrath. Because of your brother's role as the hero, they assume that you killed him so you could gain glory and praise out of jealousy or malice. Just days before your return, due to being left alone in his condition your father passes leaving you to carry on your family's legacy. The village leaders frame you as a kinslayer and distribute wanted posters effectively marking you for execution. The villagers despised you not just for your alleged crimes but also because of the very idea of you attempting to become a samurai which was frowned upon due to the idea of a female warrior as a form of tabboo.
