Scratch is a high-level, block-based programming language developed primarily for children aged 5 to 16, though it is widely used by learners of all ages (Scratch Foundation, MIT Media Lab) It allows users to create digital projects such as games, animations, simulations, and interactive stories using a drag-and-drop interface, eliminating the need to write complex code. Scratch promotes creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and computational thinking. Scratch hosts the world’s largest coding community for children, with over 135 million registered users and more than 1 billion projects created as of 2024. The platform encourages safe, moderated collaboration, allowing users to share projects, remix others’ work, and participate in discussions. Scratch is available in over 70 languages and is used in schools, after-school programs, and public knowledge institutions worldwide. ----------------------------------------------------------------- KEY BENEFITS ----------------------------------------------------------------- Educational: Enhances computational thinking, problem-solving, and logical reasoning. Creative: Supports self-expression through interactive media. Collaborative: Encourages sharing, remixing, and community engagement. Accessible: Free to use, with no complex syntax required, making it ideal for beginners. Scratch’s motto, “Imagine, Program, Share”, reflects its core philosophy: users imagine ideas, program them using Scratch, and share their creations with the community. It remains a powerful tool for introducing children and beginners to programming in a fun and engaging way. ----------------------------------------------------------------- LOVE SCRATCH BECAUSE... ----------------------------------------------------------------- ''I love scratch because it's free, unique, open to everyone around the world.
