★★★★★ Solar 3D Engine ★★★★★ Press R for a bunch of cubes!! After two or so years of on-off development, welcome to Solar 3D Engine. This is a relatively lightweight engine, but with all the little details to just make it work. This is the engine which powered Roblox 3D Online Remaster, and several of my unshared experiments the past couple of years. Consider this engine more a Lunar ++, rather than a followup to Interstellar. However I will likely fork it to increase features, but right now I'm sharing this lightweight and minimal version. ★★★★★ Special Features ★★★★★ ⭐ Optimized frustrum culling for meshes I wrote a custom, somewhat experimental frustrum culling script, for meshes specifically, and it's really impressed me. Expect significant performance gain in many scenarios. Try spawning many cubes and then looking away. So fast! ⭐ Robust obj. importer All regular obj. importing restrictions, such as triangulating meshes, worrying about UVs, or non-planar quads are gone. The engine just handles it. Just run the "Import OBJ. File" custom block in meshes, follow the instructions, and paste the data. ⭐ Tick based movement Movement is ran on a tick rate, which makes movement very consistent, across any FPS. ⭐ Optimization Four years of the 3D optimizations I've learned are packed into this thing. Very efficient! ★★★★★ What's next? ★★★★★ I expect this engine to be a solid foundation from which more feature complete versions to be forked from. But I thought it was important to have a solid, lightweight foundation. It's still completely possible to make a game with this, but expect to add important game features yourself.
