(Yapagraph) Barracuda lore: Barracuda - an aggressive species of Terran fish, often fighting most other creatures, including others larger than it. Due to this, they often risk their lives fighting the larger inhabitants of Terra. Although they are surprisingly successful at deterring or defeating these said larger creatures and many other Terran inhabitants due to their kit. Consisting of: their innately rapid jaws and their surpeior mobility options. This allows them to preform hit and runs on their slower more clumsy prey, tearing chunks of health off each attack until its eventual demise. As an opportunist carnivore it can find any creature on its dinner plate. Although regular prey for barracudas range from: numerous small aquatic fish such as the snoobs, water striders or small terrestrial crossers and injured carnivores up to the apex teir, many of which are consumed a day by the barracuda in order to supply its energy heavy metabolism. Due to their innate nature of aggression, finding mates renders decently hard for this species, but this isn’t impossible. Mainly the mating period happens when there is an unusual abundance of food, with enough supply the barracudas generally tranfer into thier mating state, spending more of their time locating potential mates. Once fertilised, a female generally starts to seek a smaller, quieter area to set down her offspring of around 10-20 eggs. averaging around 0.5 blocks large, although the barracuda’s natural demand for food renders the female absent for a majority of time. Once birthed, the hatchlings are generally left to fend for themselves, a common event to subsequently happen is the larger, more powerful newborns will attempt to consume the smaller, weaker offspring in order to supply themselves with sufficient energy to grow, resulting in 2-5 hatchlings actually making it out alive. Newborns of barracudas generally have it hard, being preyed on by larger predators regularly, forcing their diet into exclusively small defenceless inhabitants. These newborns generally take around 70-80 age (0.35-0.4 years) to fully mature into adult barracudas where they’ll continue the cycle.
