"have you ever seen the rain?" by ccr i thought of a few other songs before this one, but when i thought of this one i knew i wanted to go with it. i remember one time i was outside and this song was stuck in my head and it actually started raining while the sun was out which is crazy! it was really beautiful. i ended writing a poem about it kind of based off of the song, it's not very good lol. but anyways, i made this outfit based off the song, i've never really done anything like this before, so i would any and all feedback!! Lʏʀɪᴄs <3 someone told me long ago there's a calm before the storm i know, it's been comin' for some time when it's over, so they say it'll rain a sunny day i know, shinin' down like water i wanna know, have you ever seen the rain? i wanna know, have you ever seen the rain? comin' down on a sunny day yesterday, and days before sun is cold and rain is hard i know, been that way for all my time 'til forever, on it goes through the circle, fast and slow i know, it can't stop, i wonder i wanna know, have you ever seen the rain? i wanna know, have you ever seen the rain? comin' down on a sunny day yeah i wanna know, have you ever seen the rain? i wanna know, have you ever seen the rain? comin' down on a sunny day interpretation: i think when the band wrote the song they were talking about how they were super successful and rich and had everything you would think they needed to be happy but were depressed, angry, fighting and generally miserable. and i think this is a good meaning, but without chancing on it i would never thought it meant this. a lot of people think it's a song in protest of the vietnam war, or a lot of people did anyway. they thought "have you ever seen the rain?" was talking about how we hadn't seen the u.s. bomb showers. we didn't know what it was like and we didn't know what was happening. or something a long those lines. i don't think that's what people today would assume if they heard it because the vietnam happened so long ago. but that wasn't what i thought it meant when i listened to it. to me it meant, that a lot of times people see you and maybe they talk to you or they know about you or whatever, but very few people, if anyone, knows what you're going through. they don't know what you're dealing with or even what you've dealt with. when i see people, it's easy for me to think they live in bliss, because i don't see their struggles and i don't know their suffering. i have to remember that everyone's fighting their own battles. nobody's life is ever perfect even if it seems that way, which it often does. Oᴜᴛғɪᴛ <3 i was mostly just trying to capture the vibe of the song. the boots, jacket and hat are all waterproof but aren't supposed to resemble traditional rain coats, rain boots etc. there is an umbrella and there are sunglasses as well, because it's something you might wear on rainy and sunny day. the locket represents something you don't know about someone.
