full title: mazo explains the entirety of the arc she started before summer break ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kristen wakes up in the middle of the night and as he goes to the bathroom, he starts feeling a pain in his chest. when he tries to investigate it, he notices a large black crack-like shape on his chest with a purple eye in the center of it. turned out all the stress his body has been under caused the parasite to mutate and grow. this portion of the parasite is much more independent and very often refuses to listen to Kristen. after a bit, Kristen chose to name it necros. weeks later, the family ran into vinn and arthur at a restaurant and learned that mazz(she was originally named mazo but I changed it) and her team are after Lexi. in the moment, there isn't much the family can do but they do start being a bit more careful when going out and such. one night while Kristen was out on the streets, he ran into a mysterious man he soon learned to be Edwin Fletcher. Dr. Fletcher tried to convince Kristen to allow him to run some tests(mainly taking samples and such) so he could learn about the parasite kristen is infected with but Kristen refused. fletcher tried one last time another night before deciding to no longer give mercy. Fletcher is the head scientist of CogniMed Industries, so he carries a large amount of power over the corporation, and the world. since ofc the industry was already after Lexi, it didn't take much for Fletcher to order the hunting team to target Kristen as well. once Kristen finds out Fletcher is now legit after him through arthur, he warns his neighbors(mainly the ones who like/care about the family) about a television broadcast that'll be out in 5 days. within the broadcast, Fletcher announced the hunting team was expanding, growing stronger. with this new information, Kristen quickly realized his family was in more danger than ever before. after the broadcast, Kristen quickly went to check on the neighbors. frankly, they were all okay sooo, that's sweet. on the downside, while the broadcast was playing, it was emitting mind control waves, so anyone else who was watching it was actually under the control of Fletcher. you see the whole mind control waves is a very bad thing because that means public areas like schools probably had several people under fletcher's control, which is really bad since Lexi and Winston need to go to school but it would be too much of a risk to let them go. so basically now the family is really on edge because they're hyperfocusing on protecting the kids and sora is extremely worried for Kristen since he's not only trying to adjust to the new parasite mutation but he's also being hunted by Fletcher. oh ye forgot to mention it but a tad bit before Kristen met Fletcher, finn chose to go back to the director(he was living with the family at the time) and after a bit Kristen allowed vesper to live with the family. ahem anyways okay fast forward some more time and one night Fletcher and his team break into the house. at first, he was there to capture Kristen. and while it didn't succeed, Fletcher was able to cause harm to Lexi. during the attack, lexi was trying to get away from two guards, turning into a bird and trying to fly away to gain distance. Fletcher saw her and grabbed her leg, throwing to the ground and stomping on her wing(aka arm). he didn't fracture the bone, but he did cause her enough pain to force her to turn back into her regular self. eventually Fletcher and his team left after sora and vesper started to attack some of the guards. Winston quickly used his healing powers to fix lexi's arm(this incident leads to lexi's fear of turning into any flying animal for a while). fast forward a bit more of time and eventually the mind control waves fade out, allowing Lexi and winston to go back to school. (oh ye at some point Winston makes a friend named bibii but i'll make a project bout him another time). for a bit, everything is kinda calm. until one day. one day, mazz's team raids the family's home and captures everyone but bix and vesper. of course, they don't end up trapped there for long. Lexi managed to escape her cage after distracting mazz and quickly went to rescue Winston and sora. Fletcher does manage to get the samples he wanted, but his tests are short-lived once Lexi tackles him. Kristen manages to escape his chamber and gets the rest of the family out before Fletcher can catch them. after that, the household calms down for a few weeks. Kristen manages to get in contact with vinn after a while since he and arthur been in other dimensions. after Kristen told vinn about what's been happening lately, vinn tells Kristen to take some time to rest since Arthur's managed to cast a spell that places a barrier over certain areas in the town(like the schools, the house, basically places the family go to often/very public/populated areas).
eventually, the family has one last encounter with Fletcher. while lexi is walking out of school and waiting for Kristen to pick her up, Fletcher appears. sadly, at this time, the barrier spell Arthur had sent started to fade, so Fletcher was able to break it without much issue. Kristen drives to the school and once he sees Fletcher, he quickly gets out of the car to protect Lexi. Fletcher raises his hand, summoning a white glowing orb before pointing it down at Lexi and Kristen. now this is like, my favorite part of the arc hehehehee- when Fletcher sends down a beam from the orb, Kristen raises his arm as if to deflect the attack and it WORKS. he holds back the beam with his arm as he summons a small purple orb from his hand and shoots it at Fletcher. the orb hits Fletcher which causes him to get knocked back. the beam attack ends and Kristen slumps to the ground. fletcher's body starts to fade(sadly no he isn't dying, his body is just retreating since his body was damaged heavily by kristen's orb attack) and he left with one final message: "I'll get you Kristen-! You're a DEAD MAN." and then he faded. Kristen took lexi back home and the home finally returned to some peace. mazz retreated along with her team once she found out Fletcher retreated, finally choosing to leave vinn and Arthur alone. she's still determined to capture Lexi, she'll just find another opportunity to do it. Kristen eventually has to be taken to the hospital bc the beam attack he took heavily injured his body. also uh, he legit managed to hold back the beam with his pure determination and need to protect his child. i'd consider that very impressive- anyways uh yeah that's kinda the end of this arc. i'll draw an updated ref for Kristen and draw a ref for Fletcher later.
