I’m sorry to anyone who has supported the Croatia, USA, Belgium, Norway, England, France, or Switzerland teams this year. It was my fault. I have been cursed, any team I show mild support or interest in was doomed to lose. It started with Croatia in the Round of 32. Then I started rooting for the US team. And then Belgium. And then Norway. And then Switzerland. And then France. And then England. And then France again (for 3rd). I chose not to voice my opinions on either finals team because I needed fate to run its course.
Obviously, this could have also been amplified by Miku (the “Miku Effect”) and the World Cup Song Guy (the “World Cup Everybody Jump Curse”) but I believe I’m mostly at fault.
