Stage of grief: n/a “Now you’re gone and nothing ever feels quite like it should” {lyrics} Verse 1: I should really stop locking myself in my bedroom With the lights off, laying on the floor They sunlight helps, it’s good to get out But I don’t really feel like doing anything anymore Chorus: Cause you did more than the sun ever could Now you’re gone and nothing ever feels quite like it should And I’m lost and I don’t know where to go anymore Nothing feels the same now Verse 2: All the places we used to go, you and me Haven’t changed a bit, even months later The library and our spot at the yogurt shop Still look like they did when we were there together But the air feels heavy even though your body’s not here with me Chorus: Cause you did more than the sun ever could Now you’re gone and nothing ever feels quite like it should And I’m lost and I don’t know where to go anymore Nothing feels the same now Bridge: I can leave my room, but I can’t leave you behind (hind, hind, hind) Cause there’s too many memories tied to you (you, you, you) Now everywhere I go never feels right (right, right, right) Cause the ghost of you is never far behind (I’m behind you) Chorus: Yeah, you did more than the sun ever could Now you’re gone and nothing ever feels quite like it should And I’m lost and I don’t know where to go anymore Nothing feels the same now
Me for the guitar, vocals, and lyrics {info} Run time - 3:07 Key - A minor BPM - 127 {Note} “The Same” was written during this really low point where I was barely leaving my room. My mom kept telling me that going outside and sunlight would make me feel better, and I knew she was right… but in that moment, it felt like none of that mattered because the one thing that instantly made me feel ok wasn’t there anymore. And that feeling became this song. It’s about the feeling of emptiness that’s left when someone you really care about leaves and everything around you keeps moving, but for you, nothing feels the same anymore. I hope you enjoy “The Same”! <333
