Strawberry looked down at the crowd of cats with curiosity. She wondered how they felt about this. “Hello Capitol!” She smiled widely, waving her paw excitedly in the air. “I’m Strawberry, one of the tributes from District 7. I hope you all are having a fun time!” Strawberry certainly wasn’t, but she could try to pretend for a bit that she was. That everything was going to alright. She traced her paw down along her outfit. “I’ve never worn anything so beautiful in all my life.” A white corset was tight on her torso, but she was grateful for that. It was grounding in a way, had something to tether to the moment. She also wore a dark green skirt; the fabric was so smooth and felt wonderful on her pelt. But it didn’t stop there! Tree branches shaped like deer antlers sat on her head with flowers and leaves glued meticulously. The outfit was supposed to reflect her District and she was glad that the lumber aspect had been used so thoughtfully. “I’m going to win,” she said suddenly, breaking the silence she left, “I have two siblings at home. They rely on me for everything.” Strawberry looked down at each and everyone one of the cats in the crowd, with a mix of determination and hope. “I know it’s going to be hard, but I will do anything and everything to go back to them.” She looked towards one of the cameras, giving it a smile. “I will come home, I promise.” Strawberry turned her attention back to the crowd. “No matter what, I’m going to give you all one heck of a show! So stay tuned, my friends.” She blew a kiss toward the crowd then continued waving.
