Stage of grief: Bargaining “And it hurts that I’ll never get chance to ever let you know that I love you” {lyrics} Verse 1: If I had known that was the last time I’d hold you close, I would’ve never been the first to let go Would’ve held you in my arms a little longer If only I could’ve known right in that moment Pre-chorus: I always thought you’d find your way back to me Never thought goodbye could mean forever Chorus: If I had a time machine, I’d replay you next to me Press pause on what we used to be If I had a time machine, I’d make you stay, I’d make you see What you really meant to me If I had a time machine- Verse 2: If I had known that was our last goodbye, I would’ve found the words I was too scared to say Cause I thought we would have tomorrow and a thousand more I never knew what I was counting down towards Pre-chorus: I always thought you’d find your way back to me Never thought goodbye could mean forever Chorus: If I had a time machine, I’d replay you next to me Press pause on what we used to be If I had a time machine, I’d make you stay, I’d make you see What you really meant to me If I had a time machine- Bridge: All the things I never got to ask you All the things I never got to know All the things I never got to do with you All the places we never got to go All the words I never said out loud Now they’re stuck in my throat And it hurts that I’ll never get the chance to Ever let you know Outro: That I love you
Me for the guitar, lyrics, and vocals {info} Run time - 2:48 Key - Eb major BPM - 95 {Note} They say grief happens differently for everyone. For me, it started with bargaining. All the “what ifs?”, replaying every moment, trying to convince myself that if I’d just held on a little longer or found the right words, maybe things would’ve ended differently. “Time Machine” is the third track on “grief” that represents the stage of bargaining. It’s about bargaining with my own mind instead of accepting reality, wishing I could go back and change things so that goodbye wasn’t the end. I hope you enjoy “Time Machine”! <333
