The United States Federal Government has invoked Title I and III of the Defense Procurement Act, using this it has impressed buy-out contracts. The Department of Defense will operate the contractor with the valuation of the company being paid out over 10 years, as long as it meets production quotas for essential systems. (see back) With this, the Federal Government has essentially nationalized its defense industry. With this invoked, the Department of Defense has reduced its predicted discretionary spending (for 2028) by 53%, freeing up ~1.5 trillion dollars for additional defense or social spending.
