first, i mean no disrespect to any commisioners, any analysts, but this has been on the top for a minute. Second, This is mainly about the Seasonal Classic.(SS WS) A comittee only works when they're independent. Major leagues should and need higher standards. comissioners shouldn't be allowed to play in the same league they created and actively run. this isnt about saying they're cheating and it certainly isn't about disrespecting them or anyone else involved with the league, its really about conflicting interest, because tbh the comissioner creates and has full reach over the draft, format, rules, awards and potentially even the schedule. now for minor leagues, this won't make anyone bat an eye, but for major leagues, where even the smallest things can make or break a teams season? if a comissioner makes rules, chooses the format and controls the overarching league decisions, they should not be a player trying to win under those rules.
a comissioner has to be and should be neutral. their job is to kep the league fair, enforce rules, pick games, keep activity high and not compete in a league they have control over. becomes especially concerning when game choices appear to change after a commissioner’s team has been knocked out.. if a comissioner wants to play the solution should be to step down or have a group independent of the league make the decision. thats all i have to say, whether this is implemented, whether its heard out, isnt up to me.
