Astrid hated the feelings of paws prodding her and customizing them to the likings of capitol-cats, it made vem’s skin crawl, feeling like a pet of the capitol. However, in order to get sponsors and go home back to her love, Eivor, they had to tolerate it. Never like it, Astra would never /like/ being in the capitol, ve would merely and solely *tolerate* the stylists that were dolling her up to be paraded around in front of capitol citizens and possible sponsors. Astri was fashioning some weird capitol outfit they didn’t quite know how to describe, it was brightly colored and medieval jester-like, it made a look of disgust come across her face. Anyhow, Azzy sat with their fellow district 8 tributes on a chariot, surrounded by the smell of oil and sulphur that left an acrid taste in vem’s mouth. Eventually the chariot being led out into the open, the sun that was partially covered by a cloud let out a bright light that obscured her vision but they did hear loud, roaring cheers for all forty-seven tributes as they were displayed like museum artifacts for looking at. which they kind of were, they were for the eye to see, it didn't really matter what happened to get them here for the capitol cats, didn't matter that forty-six families would never see their tribute again, didn't matter that forty-six tributes would suffer a gruesome fate in the arena at the paws of another who was trying to get home ... it only mattered that they were 'entertaining' and as long as the games would run, that's how it would be. every year countless families would loose someone they loved, but this year...it would be her who got to see eivor and inayat again. so ve put on a show. `` why hello there, all of panem! I trust you're all doing well on this fine day, hm? `` azzy's voice was cool and dripping with their most charming tone. the cheering only became louder, so astra continued. `` I'm Astrid Ahmadi of district 8, but you probably know that already! I hope each and every one of you enjoys my show I put on whilst in the arena and during my interview... I certainly look forward to it myself! `` lies. all of it was lies and it made her sick to their stomach. `` I'll keep it simple cause' plenty other tributes are here awaiting your wonderful praise but.. I have a knife pointed at the target of getting home and let's just say...I never miss my target. now, rest assured my capitol friends, you /will/ remember me. `` again, it was a lie, when Astrid first started throwing knives ve messed up /all/ the time, even to this day they missed sometimes, but it sounded fancy and impressive so she said it and now it would be burned into the capitol cats' memories for a long time. or at least ve hoped. ve could only hope.
i actually re-read this now and hate it lol.
