If you’re new to the world of CGOL please read the following (it’s not ai I wrote it i promise) Conways game of life (aka CGOL) is a zero-player game invented by the mathematician John Conway in 1970. The game takes on a 2D grid of cells; each cell has the state of either dead or alive. A dead cell with three neighbors will be alive in the next generation and otherwise remains dead. Any alive cell will stay alive if it has either 2 or 3 neighboring cells and will otherwise die in the next generation. Despite these simple rules, players have discovered many different patterns with interesting behaviors. Some include gliders which are patterns that travel indefinitely across the board. Others include oscillators that repeat a pattern and always come back to their original state after a certain amount of generations. Although these are just simple objects, people have managed to build much cooler things in CGOL including: Conways game of life inside Conways game of life, Glider guns, And computers that can do math. CGOL is Turing-Complete, which means it can run any computer program, given the resources and time. #Conway #Game #of #life #cgol #CGOL #coding #math #fun
