But her earliest memories that she could understand were of her sister taking care of her in the harsh tundra they lived in. Twilight doesn't remember what happened to their mother, but her sister tells her that she lost them during a flood. The first year of Twilight's life was cold and miserable. The second year of her life was better, her and her sister had traveled thourgh the tundra until they found a nicer, warmer, prettier place to live. A pineforest. There they meet an elderly lynx named Saga who took them in.
