======================================== <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Ancient Civilisation RP scenario for Civilization II <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> ======================================== READ ALL BELOW. Arrow keys or space to change slides ======================================== INSTALLING ======================================== It is recommended to play this scenario in Multiplayer Gold Edition. It should work on Vanilla Civ2, but I don't know. To get around Scratch's restrictions on filesharing, an attached scenario file can be found in Sprite 2 inside the project, as can a link to download Civ2 MGE for Win10/11. NB this scenario was intended for my modded version of Civ2. The only difference in the ancient era is that phalanxes have 2 attack rather than 1, although both may work. This can be altered if/as desired in rules.txt. Cities may also show default city styles (medieval for Tibitans (Vikings) rather than intended classical, etc.). ======================================== PLAYING ======================================== The scenario starts in 3000 ʙᴄ and lasts until ᴀᴅ 500, divided into 175 20-year turns. Tech starts in the Bronze Age and will usually reach early medieval by the end of the game (at least on Warlord, Prince, & King). Playable factions include all seven player nations, in order of turns: • Naeshus aa Bananak • Tzi-por • Tir de Tibit • Galliformae • Holy City of Bezz-Urk • Sriviguptans • Xin Dynasty • Trilobitani (see below*) General strategy notes: Find out yourself! Should be fairly self-explanatory. The factions are assymmetric in terms of starting technologies, units, focuses, and cities. • The Neshuans start with the largest army, but the Bezzians start with the most well-equipped (veteran phalanxes). • The Tibitans start with ironworking, but marginal territory and no way to reinforce their bridgehead. • The Galliformae have a lot of chariots which gives them an offensive edge early, but no bronzeworking. • Tzi-por starts with a LOT of gold, two diplomats, and caravans, but almost no army. • The Sriviguptans start with lots of ships and caravans, and a small army. • The Xin... IDK. You have the Great Library so you needn't worry about tech. For those playing to win, the scenario goal is to capture as many cities and Wonders of the World as possible. The latter include: • The Pyramids of Aetennib • The Great Wall of Baukh-Urk • The Hanging Gardens of Bezz-Urk • The Lighthouse of Sri Trivinijinagara • The Great Library of Chengxia • The Oracle of Tzi-Por • The Colossus at Eaghail Cities and Wonders are worth 1 point each. N.B. cities founded after 3000 ʙᴄ will not increase score. * Barbarians (representing the Trilobitani) are not technically playable, but instructions for playing as barbarians can be found at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMBDqJN-VSE&t=1473s ========================================
I have played this countless times and found it pretty balanced but let me know if anything doesn't work! Credit to Reynolds et al. at Microprose for Civ2. Thank you to @Attalibexerxes for organising the RP (and for feedback on the scenario) and thank you to all involved in the Ancient Civilisation RP for your most creative civilisations, namely: • @Asisi_Games_Co • @cutequail • @jaiyuitle • @JBoosterRooster1 • @TheXinEmperor • @Dohwaltzvrr Props to u/trul44 on Reddit for the link to Civ2
