-Born From The Stars- chapter 3 .Chapter 3 Minnowkit gulped down the last of her fish and waited for all the warriors to slip into their nests for the night. No one noticed her there next to the nursery, slowly watching the sun disappear past the horizon. As soon as the last sliver of light slipped away, Minnowkit sprung into action. She swiftly darted behind the nursery without a sound. Minnowkit had been itching all day to see what Shallowkit had been talking about. She saw him waiting for her there like he said. “Okay, I'm here. This better be good.” She said, trying to cover the excitement twitching in her tail. “Great! So I found the cool tunnel through the bushes that leads out behind the camp.” He lifted up a large leaf covering a tunnel of broken twigs running through the shrub. “Woah, cool! How did you find it?” Minnowkit exclaimed. “Well, I usually use this place as a getaway for when my siblings are getting in my fur, and I noticed one day that there was a small tunnel here.” Shallowkit explained, shuffling his paws again. Huh, so he didn't always get along with the other kits either. Maybe she was too quick to judge him. “Let's go!” She mewed to him. “Okay, let me go in first.” Shallowkit stated. He crouched down and started crawling through the bush. Minnowkit did the same and followed him. She flinched as her fur kept getting snagged on twigs. The hole was barely the size of a kit, and it made sense how no one else had found it before. She eventually popped out the other side onto a patch of grass. “Here we are!” “Woah.” Minnowkit looked up at the towering trees surrounding her, as she got overloaded with tons of new smells. “It’s so big!” She exclaimed. “I know right, wait till you see the lake.” Shallowkit replied, and started running through the undergrowth. “Wait up!” Minnowkit ran after him. It felt so good to run through the reeds with the wind blowing against her. She never wanted to leave. Suddenly, she accidentally tripped on a loose twig. “Ow,ow!” Minnowkit started licking her paw. “Oh! Are you okay?” Shallowkit turned around and helped her up. “Yeah, I think I'm fine.” She replied. “Okay, that's good, we’re here anyway.” He led her around a patch of reeds. “Tada!” He exclaimed, presenting the large blue body of water behind him. It seemed to stretch on forever as the moonlight reflected off it. “It’s cool, right?” Shallowkit asked. “The most cool.” She replied, sitting down. “Hey, you never answered my question.” Minnowkit realized. “Huh? Which question?” He looked back at her confused. “You know, the one about why you’re helping me.” “Oh,” Shallowkit blushed. “Um, I guess I wanted to make it up to you, and um, I guess it’ll be kinda helpful to have another cat with me if I get in trouble.” Minnowkit got caught in a sudden mix of emotions. “Really!? So you only helped me so you could use me as a scapegoat when you get in trouble?” She hissed. “What? No, I-” “Fine! There is nothing left for me here anyway!” She growled and turned to run away. “Minnowkit! Come back! I, I- didn't mean it like that…” Shallowkit tried, but she didn't want to hear it. They were all the same, only caring about themselves, leaving no room for the weird kit. Why did she think he was any different? Minnowkit kept running. Why should she have to go back to camp? No one would even notice she was gone. If she just kept running, exploring, learning, everything could be better.
