Chapter 25 <~<~<~<~<~ Soon, the ball's close to being over, and I'm literally about to fall asleep, leaning on the wall. Before I can actually fall asleep, I feel Logan nudge me. "Hey, you tired," he asks, whispering. I snap my head up, shaking it. "No, I'm awake." He doesn't look convinced. Bella and Alex left a bit ago, saying something about getting some private time in the Gryffindor's common room before heading to bed. Emily's currently scavenging for food, and Matt's with her, making sure she doesn't get caught. The Lupin twins are in the staircase, talking quietly about something. So it's just me and Logan at the wall. He stands next to me, quietly. We don't really say anything, we just stand there, leaning against the wall, watching everyone. Until I yawn slightly. Then he turns to me, a small smirk on his face. I glare at him. "No- Noo!" "You want to go to sleeeeeeeep?" I walk away. I'm too exhausted for this. "Jackiee!" "Nope." "Jaaaackieeeeeee!" "Nope." That continues for a bit, with me walking, and Logan keeping pace. <~<~<~<~<~ Eventually, I do give up. I turn around, and lean into him, muttering, "I give up. I'm too tired for this." I feel him straighten for a bit. Then I pick my head back up, and say, "I'm gonna go to bed. See you tomorrow?" He nods, though I notice a slight pink tinge on his face. "Yeah, tomorrow- Breakfast?" I nod, "Breakfast." I start walking to the staircase, to get to the Hufflepuff common rooms. <~<~<~<~<~<~<~ When I reach my dorms, I'm hoping for everyone to be asleep. I was wrong. Coral's asleep. Maddie, however, is not. She's reading a book on her bed, her cat weaving between her legs every few second. She looks up. "Oh, hey! You were out late!" I nod, "Just wanted to stay out when I could. I'm only back now because I'm too tired." She laughs. "Makes sense," then she goes back to her book. I change out of my dress and into my pajamas. Then, I lay on my bed, staring at the ceiling. (Tonight wasn't so bad after all... And now I have breakfast to look forward to.)
