There are 9 known species in the bullhead family, all belonging to the genus Heterodontus. (This quiz only has 8 of them, because the Oman bullhead shark has only been sighted a few times and there are no good pictures of it! :) Heterodontus translates to "different teeth." The front teeth on these sharks are small and sharp for grabbing slippery prey, while the back teeth are broad, flat, and rounded like human molars. They use these back teeth to crush hard-shelled prey like sea urchins, crabs, and mollusks. * Please use in full screen mode * Look at the picture and try to guess the names of all 8 of the species! Note: Some of these sharks have more than one name, I am just using their common names. :)
