(Val POV) "-And then, she told me that her grandpa was de@d! Could you believe it?!" Glitch exclaimed as he began reciting one of his usual long, exciting and probably fake stories. I chuckled, shaking my head as I pulled a can of diet Coca-Cola from the fridge. Glitch had been my best friend since we met all those years ago in that lab. Glitch and I were brought into the facility when I was 6 and Glitch was 3. The lab was a horrible place, let me tell you that. They experimented on us without a single care for our well-being. If we d13d, oh well! They would just throw us out like broken toys before finding someone to replace us. But, me and Glitch put a stop to all the experimenting when we burned the whole place down and escaped. Maybe they shouldn't have given us all these super epic powers and given Glitch a goopy, slippery black body if they didn't want us to escape. Or at least they could've upped their security. Owen suddenly snapped his fingers in my face, bringing me out of my thoughts. "You alright? You were day dreaming." The short man asked me, his brown hair covering his bright blue eyes for a moment. I rolled my eyes playfully. "I'm fine, Owen. Just thinking about the past." Owen nodded. Glitch was still going on and on. I leaned against the kitchen counter as I popped open the can and took a long sip of the drink. Gray entered the kitchen. His eyes were downcast, and he was doing that thing where he bit the inside of his cheek. I nudged him with my elbow. "Aye, you alright there, man?" Gray flinched as he looked up at me. "Yeah, I'm fine." He muttered. "I'm...going to use the bathroom." Gray said, and before I could reply, he walked off. It was only then I realized Glitch had stopped talking. Owen, too, had paused to watch Gray walk off. The three of us shared a confused look. "What's up with him?" Glitch queried. Owen shrugged. "No clue. But he seemed pretty upset. Should we check on him?" Glitch put his finger to his nose, or at least, where it would be if he had one. "Not it!" Glitch squealed. Owen quickly followed suit. "Not it." I groaned. "Are you guys kidding?! You guys know I'm not good at comforting people..." I grumbled. Glitch patted my back. "C'mon, man! Just this once!" I let out a defeated sigh. "Fine! But just this once, you hear me?" Glitch grinned. "That's the spirit! Now, go out there and help Gray."
