Construction of the E44 Aegis began in 2018, and the aircraft has undergone extensive development since its inception. Today, the E44 Aegis is regarded as one of Europia’s most advanced 5.5-generation stealth multirole aircraft, designed around a balance of speed, maneuverability, low observability, and firepower. The Aegis is capable of reaching speeds of Mach 2.50, placing it among the fastest aircraft in its class. This performance is enabled by the Rëuler G575 afterburning turbofan engine. The aircraft also incorporates three-dimensional thrust vectoring to enhance maneuverability and control. Despite this advanced propulsion system, the Aegis maintains a low-observable profile through the use of unconventional triangular exhaust nozzles rather than traditional circular designs. During the development of the E44 Aegis, two foreign nations provided significant support to the project: the USV and Neuvellon. The Vespacians contributed technical expertise and resources toward the aircraft’s stealth capabilities, specifically assisting with the development and application of its specialized stealth coating. Neuvellon, meanwhile, supported the program through substantial financial contributions, helping to fund various aspects of the aircraft’s development. The E44 Aegis was officially completed in 2025, marking the culmination of its development program. Following its completion, the aircraft was rapidly introduced into active service and has begun replacing the aging Alpefighter Mk3. This transition represents a significant modernization of the nation’s air force, with the E44 Aegis assuming roles previously fulfilled by the Alpefighter Mk3.
