The Sadko-class amphibious assault ship was a class of 5 vessels built from 1960-1965. They were used in amphibious operations, drug interdictions (until 1980), and sometimes aid. Noted for their incredible durability, as they often operated under intense fire. They have since been replaced by the Belisarius-class LPD and the General-Marshal-class AAS. A variation of the design is in service with the Tagen Navy as the Taesda-class deployer vessel.
