Edit: TYSMMMMMM Hey, this is my entry!!! (Gosh I love his design so much I couldn't resist) LORE Riptide, or known as Experiment 54 and ____ in the past, was one of 100 cats selected for an experiment on cats to revolutionize the army. Riptide ended up in the experiment from being a kittypet when he got deathly sick and the doctor offered to try a "new" treatment to save his life. His owner agreed. Each cat was injected with mutated DNA from other animals. Only 5 cats out of the 100 survived to the end, including Riptide, who was called at this point Experiment 54. If the extra DNA did not integrate properly into the cat, the cat would mutate and eventually d1e. Amongst the survivors, there was Skylar, who received eagle DNA, therefore getting flight, Flora (Bee DNA, plant growth), Glitch (Chameleon DNA, teleportation and invisibility), Glowworm (Bat DNA, night vision, stealth), and Riptide (Orca DNA, breath underwater, water control). One day, the INCIDENT occured, all the scientists d1ed and the remaining experiments escaped into a local forest, including some mutated ones which d1ed soon after. Riptide holds some guilt regarding what happened in the lab that day, no matter how much his friends comfort him. He is emotionally distanced, not wanting to hurt anyone again, even if they are a human. Skylar is who he is closest to (she calls him Tide), may be romantically involved He never found his owner again. (All the cats renamed themselves after they got out of the lab) PAST LORE Riptide lived in a house with one female human, Sarah. His old name was ______. (He forgot...) From kithood, he was a kittypet. When he was about 3 years old, he got extremely sick, and was expected to not make it until a doctor offered to try a "newly invented treatment" on him, promising to save his life. From there, he was taken into the lab. DRAWINGS 1. Riptide in the forest, roaming around his new home 2. (TW: strange pink liquid) A look into what happened in the lab right before the INCIDENT 3. The coloured one is Riptide's kittypet form (try to guess his name and I'll give you free art :DDD) The other ones from top to bottom, left to right is Skylar, Flora, Glitch, and Glowworm That's it! This is the first DTA I've done, hope it's okay! (idk if the backstory is good-) Honestly this was low-key an excuse for me to design new cat OCs
