Atticus and Archer lore: Even though Archer and Atticus are twins , they have slight differences. Atticus’ eyes are slightly more red , and he has freckles as well as longer eyelashes then his brother. They also have different scars. Belos made an effort to make their scars distinct and saw it as a way to tell them apart easily, like how cows have their ears tagged. While in uniform (with their cloaks and masks on) they’re almost identical , making it harder for people to tell them apart while on missions. When they have their cloaks removed , Atticus has a golden guard sigil on his left sleeve and Archer has one on his right , it’s just another method for Belos to tell the twins apart , especially when he needs to punish one of them. His lore is subject to change because I’m trying to figure it out lol. Archer and Atticus were Hunter’s predecessors. There was only meant to be one of them , but due to some anomaly related to the wild magic of the palistrum wood , what was supposed to be one grimwalker turned out to be two , a set of twins. Archer ( and because they’re twins , Atticus) was created as five year old , so he would be easier for Belos to manipulate , as Belos was sick of grimwalkers rebelling and decided that a child raised by him would be more likely to be successful. They were the model soldiers , following every order flawlessly. He often only sent on Golden Guard out at a time , pushing the illusion that there was only one of them. But eventually Archer overstepped , leading to an outburst from Belos that ended with Atticus’ , and nearly his own ‘death’. ("What a shame...it was useful having two of you around."). Instead of truly killing Atticus , he simply sucked the magic out of him in a similar way to what he did to palismen, separating his soul from his body. Belos buried Atticus back in the grimwalker growing thing , as palestrum wood was getting harder and harder to find. The grimwalker that Belos basically absorbed in For The Future was Atticus, and that finally truly killed him. Atticus ‘haunts’ Archer , similar to how Caleb haunts Belos. But he doesn’t mean any harm , but ends up popping up at very inconvenient moments and scaring Archer nearly to death. He’s more of an annoying presence then anything else. Archer’s palismen, Arrow, belonged to Atticus before Belos tried to kill them. The only reason Archer survived the murder attempt was Atticus' final words "Protect Archer." Arrow allowed Archer to take some of his magic and prevented him from dying. Because of that, both Archer and Arrow have limited magic. Archer was born without it but is able to now preform simple spells (albeit poorly) and Arrow lost magic , meaning he easily gets more fatigued and has to take breaks from being a staff.
