Alone … She Was Truly Alone Daybreakkit hadn't known what unfolded when the mysterious warriors stormed into camp… those dark and terrible shadows that seized her mid-search for her beloved sister. She had called for her, desperately, frantically, but her voice dissolved into the chaos like mist before the sun. She couldn't find her. She couldn't find her. And that harrowing truth clawed at her heart with vicious teeth. And then, then, she witnessed it. Eventide, her precious sister, was being taken away by an unscented warrior. "EVENTIDE!!" she shrieked, her voice tearing from her throat as she threw herself toward the crowd. "EVENTIDE!" she screamed again, raw and hoarse, watching helplessly as her sister turned… turned to gaze at her one final time… she left. Why? Why? WHY?! Why was this nightmare bestowed upon her? Tears cascaded down her cheeks like rivers carving canyons through stone, and her trembling legs gave way beneath her as she crumpled to the earth, consumed by a grief so profound it threatened to swallow her whole. Why was the world so impossibly cruel? It had already spat upon her, again and again, and yet she'd dared to seek some silver lining in the clouds. When Mushroomkit perished, she'd wept but remained steadfast. When Afterglowkit vanished into thin air, she'd sworn to search until her final breath. And now… now they'd told her her clan was dead. Now they were taking her last remaining sister from her very arms? What twisted irony was this? The universe held no fairness… none at all. It was merciless, cold, and unfeeling. That was the irrefutable truth, written in the stars themselves. No matter how valiantly she fought against it, the world would still push her. What grievous sin had she committed to deserve such boundless suffering? She didn't recall how she arrived at Flurryclan's borders. What remained etched into her memory was only the loathsome sensation that pooled in her chest… vileness and despicability coiled together like serpents. For the first time in her young life, she understood hate. Not hatred directed at those warriors… never that, for they were merely pawns in fate's cruel game. No, she hated the world itself. The universe that allowed such devastation to blossom unfettered. And in that moment, something within her fractured beyond repair. And so she began to hate.
