She didn't feel like talking to him after her discovery. Draco was too mean to Harry and Ron. Today was Harry's first Quidditch match, and it would be Gryffindor against Slytherin. Hermione really hoped Gryffindor would win, not only because it was her house, but also so Harry wouldn't feel disappointed losing his first ever match. Ron told Hermione that there wasn't too much to worry about, since Harry's father played on the Gryffindor Quidditch Team as well, and Harry had plenty of practice at home. While Hermione was lost in her thoughts, she heard a voice call. "Hermione! Let's go and get good seats!" The match was about to start.. . ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁ ⟡ ݁ . ⊹ ₊ ݁. Hermione and Ron settled in their seats as they ate some snacks Ron brought. From there, Harry and the other players looked like tiny flies in the distance. After a bit 10 minutes into the match, Hagrid, the Hogwarts gamekeeper who was quite friendly to Hermione and the two, apparently came to watch the match. Ron and Hemrione squished themselves to give the giant man some space to sit as well. Hermione was fascinated by the sport, it was better than "Quidditch Through the Ages," described it, which was highly surprising since books usually explain things better. Another thing that added to the fun was Lee Jordan's commentating, which was very amusing indeed. . ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁ ⟡ ݁ . ⊹ ₊ ݁. A few minutes into the match, Harry started behaving weirdly on his broom. Hermione thought he somehow got distracted and was just casually losing his balance. Although, she really got worried when Harry didn't get back on properly even after a while. Hagrid was talking about how nothing can interfere with a broom like that except dark magic... Hermione quickly took Hagrid's binoculars from him. She turned to the staff's seats, to see how they were reacting. When she focused on Snape, he was concentrating on Harry, muttering something quietly. Hermione had a flashback on something she read recently... Something about jinxes and keeping eye contact on the target... Ron looked at Hermione with a confused face. "What are you doing?" He asked. Hermione responded in a hushed voice. "Snape, he's doing something. Jinxing the broom by the looks of it." Ron gaped at Hermione. "What should we do?" Luckily, Hermione had a plan up her sleeve. "Leave it to me." And with that she ran away into the stands. . ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁ ⟡ ݁ . ⊹ ₊ ݁. Hermione was running as fast as she could in hopes of saving her friend. Her hair was flying everywhere, and her robes were tripping her every now and then. After what felt like hours of running, even though it was just a minute or so, Hermione got to the stands where Snape was sitting. She accidentally knocked Professor Quirrell off his seat and into the next row. She thought of apologizing, but knew she had more important stuff to attend to at the moment. She couldn't even check how Harry was doing because she knew he might only have a few seconds left. She cast a spell that would ignite a fire, that would not truly set Professor Snape on fire, but just enough so that the end of his robes would be burning. Snape yelped, and Hermione suspected he would have lost eye contact as well, so she ran away. As Hermione got back to her seat, she saw that Harry was gagging. What was wrong. He coughed out something, and Hermione screamed in happiness along with the rest of Gryffindor as she realized it was the Golden Snitch. . ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁ ⟡ ݁ . ⊹ ₊ ݁. Harry, Ron, and Hermione walked with Hagrid to his hut for a talk and some tea. Ron told Hagrid about how they were sure Snape was the one who was cursing Harry's broomstick, but Hagrid wouldn't listen. To presuade him, Harry told Hagrid about the three-headed dog, and something Harry told Ron and Hermione earlier about Snape getting bitten by something large on Halloween, which probably meant Snape was trying to steal whatever the dog was guarding. A teacup shattered. "How do you know about Fluffy" Hagrid asked with his eyebrows raised. Hermione was confused. Did Hagrid seriously name that gruesome three-headed dog... Fluffy?! Hagrid explained how he bought the dog from a pub but he can't tell the three more because it's a secret, but Harry kept contradicting him with how Snape's trying to steal whatever's inside the trapdoor. Hermione still couldn't believe Hagrid. "So why did he just try and kill Harry?" She asked. Hagrid bit his lip. Hermione told Hagrid all about how she read about jinxes, and how Snape fit the exact criteria for someone casting one. When Hagrid was trying to snap something back at Hermione, he accidentally let slip someone named Nicolas Flamel. Now they knew exactly who to research. . ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁ ⟡ ݁ . ⊹ ₊ ݁.
