This replicates the B&O 0-4-0T "Docksider" switcher that worked from 1912 to 1951. These C-16 class engines were the last 0-4-0s that the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad made. They were assigned to the Baltimore, Maryland "Pratt Street Line" along the Inner Harbor, and to the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania waterfront trackage. #98 was one of four docksiders. The other three were #96, #97 and #99. In 1926, nos 96 and 99 were converted to the C-16A. They lost their saddle tank and were given tenders. In 1944, nos 96 and 99 were scrapped, but nos 97 and 98 still remained because they could move around extremely sharp curves which was handy. In 1950, nos 97 and 98 were renumbered to nos 897 and 898. In January 1951, nos 97 and 98 were put up for sale. Once May came, there were still no buyers, so they sent the two to be scrapped after roughly 39 years of work. If you have any suggestions, feel free to write in the comments or on my page. Thanks! If you would like to use it for your own project, don't forget to like and fav :) #train #b&o # baltimore and ohio #98 #saddle tank #switcher #0-4-0 #0-4-0t
