Chapter 5 Liz stared at Jessica who glared at her. "Is everything okay, Jessica?", Liz asked Jessica who seemed to be acting very hostile towards Liz ever since the death of Mrs. Jones. "How can everything be okay?! Especially after YOU killed my aunt just like you got rid of your parents!", Jessica burst out in tears. It seemed as if the whole world came crashing down on Liz. She looked at Jessica speechless momentarily blinded by tears. "Jessica, calm down. I would never do such a thing. What makes you think that?", Liz tried to defend herself. "Look at you! Trying to act all innocent. Everything points out that you killed my mother. On the night she had disappeared and was found dead, were you not the only who saw her? Each time she went to the orphanage she returned home tired and dusty and stressed out! She went on and on about how you and the other homeless kids stressed her out day in, day out! You were never worthy of her attention and care !!", Jessica yelled at the top of her lungs. She did not notice the small crowd of students that had gathered at the entrance of the classroom. When Jessica finally calmed down, the other students rushed to comfort her but Jessica had not finished. " I'm sure you did something that killed her but you have not disclosed the facts to the police", Jessica finally blurted out. Soon students in the small crowd began to murmur and gossip. Liz had had enough. She pushed through the crowd and ran out of the classroom She dashed through the hallway blinded both with tears and panic. Marc, Kevin and Erica, who were looking on exchanged worrying glances. Liz quickly picked up Emelia and ran home. She ran the whole way and she did not even look back as Marc called after her. She felt her whole body ache and a throbbing pain in her chest. Once she reached the orphanage, she rushed into her room and collapsed onto her bed and cried almost as if the world had ended.
