How did Global Warming start? Humans polute air with chemicals by burning fossil fuels.These gasses trap heat. Because ocean currents shift heat around the planet, and weather patterns circulate warmer air, these rising temperatures reached the Arctic and Antarctic.The heat melts the ice caps. Ice reflects about 60% or the sun's light. If there inst enough ice to reflect the sunlight, the rays hit the water instead warming the oceans which causes global warming.
