All about me! Hello! I’m @MischiefMistcat, also known as Comma or Canary. I have other nicknames; Dive, Ignite, Tide, and many others, but Comma and Canary are the main ones I use. I am a Therian, Fictionkin, and Otherlink, identifying as a Northwestern Wolf, Tabby Cat, and Southern Flying Squirrel (Therian); a SilkWing (Fictionkin); and a Canadian Marble Fox (Otherlink). I enjoy writing and roleplaying, and especially love incorporating diversity into my artwork. (Art as in all the forms, not just visual). Which kitten? Nightfall! Nightfall is just so adorable I’m stealing him he’s mine now Why I want him Nightfall is amazing! His design and pose made me instantly think ‘gasp kit for me I want this little kitten’. Like, everything about his design is amazing! I have ideas already :D Boring simple personality Kind, persistent, proud of himself, comforting Unpredictable, inaginative (can be good or bad, depends how far he takes it lol) Clumsy, gullible, overwhelming, not spatially aware Whoa exciting personality with details! Nightfall is a kind kit, wanting to get to know everyone. He’s pretty clumsy, and it’s not uncommon to find him scraping a fence in an attempt to climb it. However… he kind of can’t climb fences lol. This doesn’t stop the kitten’s attempts, in fact only making them more common. A persistent kitten would know better than to stop when things are hard! Nightfall is not embarrassed by his tendency to face plant and fall off things. In fact, he’s super proud of it! The kitten is more likely to say “Falling off of things is my favourite activity!” than “Oh, uh… please tell me you didn’t see that.” Sometimes, however, Nightfall gets a little bit caught up in his imagination, talking about things that are not real as though they are. He’s likely to insist on dragons especially, since the triplets play dragon games a lot. Nightfall is easily persuaded that things are real, unless they go against his beliefs. He is a very gullible kitten lol. Nightfall basically radiates comfortingness. If you step into a room he’s in, you’ll most likely relax slightly, as this kitten could never judge another harshly. Nightfall is a lucid dreamer, and while he is aware that he is dreaming, he still believes it to be real. Specifically, he believes he is receiving messages and dreams from a spirit/deity of some kind. Nightfall can sometimes (often) be seen as a little overwhelming, though. Ask him to stop doing something, he’ll say sorry and continue doing it. He is the kind of cat who is either silent or really loud, and is unpredictable in a predictable way, if you know what I mean? Future identity I don’t ever decide these ahead of time for my cats, regardless of the roleplay. Since Nightfall is an unborn child, I’ll be referring to him with he/him pronouns for now! Most likely, Nightfall will end up using he/him, along with some star/night/space themed neopronouns! Random ideas and stuff - Kittypets have dye access, I’m pretty sure… that’ll be useful >:3 - Nightfall is going to try and start like twenty (20) kittypet groups. Let’s see if any of them actually work in any way - Specifically, Nightfall will make a group called The Starbound Spirits, who believe in certain things like spirits and specific deities. - Nightfall lives with a household of: one (1) mother, three (3) eight (8) year old triplets, and one (1) twelve (12) year old. There are no other pets… yet. If/when Nightfall gets the dog, there will be. The mother has long dark hair and a perpetually tired expression; two (2) of the triplets have nearly identical looks, with short blonde hair and pale skin, while the other’s is a bit darker, more freckled, and longer (though not long), and they all have green eyes; and the twelve year old is a redhead and has light skin and blue eyes. All four (4) kids are adopted, as the mother is aroace and doesn’t want bio kids. Past Gens kitties Astermoth, Trailingtale/Astertail, and Cypresskit! Aster (Astermoth) d!ed from the weekly predator (low stats and I was bored of him because elders are boring). Alex (Trailingtale/Astertail) d!ed from old age, and Aph (Cypresskit) from the FlurryClan wolves. Activity 8.7 or something every day! Maybe like 8.9 for weekends… Research I decided to give Nightfall OCD in my application! - In n+c Roleplay examples - in comments Trivia Hmm maybe later Or not Idk Allegiance Nightfall will be a kittypet! I’m hoping not to have a Clan cat this time, so that I can focus on lore rather than infinite grinding. Thus, Nightfall will roleplay a lot, hopefully get the dog companion, and not be overly buff nor overly weak. Other/Questions N/A!
Research: OCD, which stands for Obsessive Compulsive D!sorder, is a mental condition where the affected person (or in this case, cat) has unwanted thoughts and/or repeated actions that they cannot stop regardless of what they try to do. It is not, unlike what most people think, Orderly Cleanliness D!sorder. On media, OCD is seen as ‘must keep things neat or else I’ll be annoyed’, but it is not that! Many people with OCD would actually find it triggering, rude, offensive, or even discriminatory if someone said that. OCD is, specifically, an anxiety d!sorder, meaning that these unwanted thoughts and actions stem from their fear. For example: “I bet that I left the door unlocked, what if someone comes in? Someone is going to come in. I’d better go check it out.” Another example could be “Something bad will happen if I do/don’t do this.” OCD takes up a substantial part of a person’s daily life, and interferes with their work and social life. There are many different types of OCD, exactly as many as there are people with OCD! Everyone experiences it differently, no one the same as another person. For instance, two (2) people with OCD might be in the same room. One (1) is counting the tiles seven (7) times—any more or less, and it’s wrong—and the other does not appear to be having any symptoms. Inside the second (2nd) person’s mind, they are actually thinking about how they need to make sure not to do anything wrong or potentially dang3rous, otherwise the first (1st) person will be in lots of dang3r. For Nightfall, OCD will mostly revolve around two things: - Counting. Nightfall will feel a persistent urge to count things, especially his and other cats’ steps. He will likely look at their feet as they walk, trying to make sure they are both taking the same amount of steps. He will also, when counting other things (words, flowers, times others tap) count to eighteen (18), start again, and repeat that until the noise/sight goes away or ends. As for words, these will be counted one (1) word at a time, but they are not as important as counting letters. Letters are skip-counted by threes and fours until he reaches the end, and he must find a way to make it exactly perfect and end it on a whole number. (He can’t count one-two-three, one-two-three, one-two, there needs to be another three.) This counting is mostly because “Something bad will happen to me and I won’t be able to stop it and I have to know how many and if I don’t then something bad will happen and the letters can’t be the wrong number”. I mean, obviously. I get these kind of thoughts too, and counting is. not. fun. - Symmetry. Nightfall will have to make sure that everything he does is symmetrical, be it a subconscious tap of the paw or a tail whacking away a mosquito. As Nightfall has very strong OCD, these symmetry-correction-compulsions will be less “I must do it on both sides”, and more “I must do it exactly like I did it on the other side, down to the tiniest bit”. He will often end up doing things not twice (2x) but seventy times (70x) because of this. The thoughts that form these compulsions are because it has to feel right. Nightfall describes it as an invisible rope that connects him to other places on himself and the world, not allowing him to spin or do things wrong or it will get tangled, and tangled is bad. Having OCD impacts Nightfall daily and nightly, as he cannot escape these thoughts. He will always have to do the same compulsions, the same things, over and over again, with zero (0) improvement. Fun fact: I think I might have OCD (not confirmed of course), which is part of the reason I gave it to Nightfall in my application!
