In December. 2017, The japanese community suffered something that they would never forget. Out of nowhere. It was reported that a random account was hacked. The hacker had no account before. So, by the logic of some moderator: If there is no subject found. Then there is no crime. Also, it was just a single project. Nothing than a account return to the original owner and thats it.. But then, it started to spread. More reports of the strange hackings started the december 5th. It also seemed that the hacker changed the passwords so the original owners could never return. Beacuse when they commented something like "Hey, reply a taco to this If you are kidnapped". They did not reply. Just pure silence. The hackings begun to grow more, more and more. Christmas eve was around the corner.. It was the worst the japanese scratchers ever had. It spread from Animations to games. So no project was safe. The anonymous hacker also knew of the people who feared them. So if you commented on the hacked projects or put something like "(DECEMBER HACK FREE)" on your project. You would also run the risk of being hacked. People trusted no one for an entire month. The december hack seemed to expand.. You wouldnt click a japanese project without seeing people having absolute collective hysteria in the comments. That was until. New years came. The hacker seemed to be IP banned. The victims received their accounts back. The only time it was reminisced of again was in 2020. There was a small meme on the christmas eve. It was really simple; just some character with a thousand yard stare with a caption which translates to: "December 5th. Never forget.". It died out as fast as it did birth. But let this one story revive again. Some little shenanigans like these need to be remembered for centuries.. Even if it was just as easy as using 2-step verification to make that domino effect stop.
