SHIFTING THROUGH A DREAMSCAPE - Section 3: The Playground ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This time when I woke up, I was standing in a playground. I looked up at the sky. It was completely dark, with no stars to be seen. It was like looking up into a void. I then looked at the playground I was standing in. It was colorful and childlike. Of course it would be. It was a playground. I walked around. I felt the woodchips shift underneath my feet as I walked. I went down the slides a few times, and played on the seesaw. I spun on the merry-go-round and swung on the swings. I missed playing like this. After I got bored, I wandered away from the playground. In front of me was a forest. I didn’t enter it, though. I just stared at it for a bit. In the corner of my eye, I could’ve sworn I saw some sort of tall shadowy figure looking at me, but once I directed my vision to look at it, it disappeared. Huh. How strange… I don’t know why, but I felt like that forest was calling me, beckoning me to enter, promising me safety and shelter. It concerned me, so I started to walk in the opposite direction, away from the forest. I walked and I walked and I walked. Past the playground, into fields of tall grass. Just tall grass. I was starting to feel like I would be walking in those fields for all eternity, when suddenly, I came across a road. I stopped near it, looking to the left and to the right. The road looked like it stretched on forever on both sides. After a bit of thinking, I started to cross the road. It wasn’t too wide of a road, it should’ve taken me a couple of steps to reach the end of it, but my steps were small. Hesitant. Fearful. …Fearful, huh? That was new. I hadn’t felt anything but relaxed and slightly tired until now. I used to feel like nothing could ever hurt me here, that there was only peace in this odd dream-like world, but that feeling has started to fade. I don’t know why, and I’m not even sure if I want to know why. After all, ignorance is bliss, isn’t it? Without warning, I heard a blaring noise. Just as I covered my ears and turned my head, a car slammed into me, distracting me from my thoughts as I fell unconscious once again.
This is a bit of a long section lol I got the picture from "pin interest" (Scratch doesn't like the actual name of the app ;-;)
