THIS IS A FAILED PROJECT ENTRY FOR King_David_007's GAME JAM THAT WAS NOT COMPLETED BY THE DEADLINE. AS A RESULT, THE GAME IS NOT ACTUALLY A GAME, so sorry. Guide Duffy through the island to find a way to get out (impossible, since it's not even close to being finished)!
DEVLOG: May 3, 2026 - Started working on my entry for @King_David_007's 1K follower contest! Worked on a short introduction animation where Duffy is yoinked up by balloons and is dropped on a different island. Duffy yells the phrase "OH COME ON!" and the parallax effect is implemented. May 4, 2026 - Added the text bubble for the phrase "OH COME ON!" where it zooms in from Duffy's position, added a play button, made the text bubble and play button expand and contract gradually, and made the shake effect more consistent. Added player movement and a transition from the menu to the game. Made static costumes for the player in all angles and perspectives. May 7, 2026 - Made the player walk animations from all angles (very tedious). May 8, 2026 - Worked on the actual game map. Created the central part of the island, and made a map that looked like a poorly drawn version of the island. May 9, 2026 - Added the player icon for the map that would be located on the map relative to where they are in the game. Also added a button(untextured) that would pull the map into the screen when pressed and into the screen when pressed again... wait, that's not supposed to happen. May 10, 2026 - Changed the way the button works so that it pulls the map into the screen when pressed, and out of the screen when pressed again... except it starts glitching out and refuses to show the map or the player icon. CYCIEST, IT'S NOT THAT HARD TO MAKE A STUPID BUTTON, YOU'VE MADE HUNDREDS OF THESE IN YOUR CARE*R, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? May 11, 2026 - FINALLY fixed the button glitches and also made the button rotate a little when pressed. Made the button brighter when the cursor hovers over the button and darker when it is not being hovered over. Also made a map button texture for the open map and close map costumes. May 12, 2026 - Changed a very subtle issue with the player icon moving from the center of the screen to the desired location, so that now it moves from the bottom of the screen to the desired location. May 22, 2026 - Arrived back on Scratch... just to spend 5 minutes getting the player to move between sections of the map(the icon also moving relative to the player). May 27, 2026 - Made the 9 panels of the actual island accurate to the map. Everything except the sand is still blank and empty, so I made a few sketches of possible layouts for the map. June 2, 2026 - (I wish I successfully) Added collisions to the player, however I screwed up on the screen-switches. June 15, 2026 - After a painful week of AP finals, I scrapped the collisions and replaced it with a kill-zone. July 5, 2026 - After a really long break from Scratch (personal life), I added some map-details to the water kill-zone icon. Also added the Bomb-Tree's sprite into the island. I've sketch a lot of possible concepts for the other future parts of the island. I noticed that the map-button obscured a decent part of the screen, so I made it slightly transparent whenever any entities were near it. July 12, 2026 - Added the Glue Turtle! I couldn't create the full sprite, but I was able to get the coding so that the enemy can follow the player while wrapping between the 9 "screens".
