Update 26 - Working with Bree ——————-——————————————————— I had went and picked up my new tack for Buttercup Reverie “Bree” from Greenleaf earlier and so I decided that we would work today on confidence while in the saddle. I went a little later in the day since it was much cooler and the sky was very pretty haha Bree is extremely sweet but has trouble trusting her rider while working. She stops frequently and waits for assurance before going forward and can spook quite easily. I used consistent light leg pressure to keep her walking and wouldn’t “stop” with her when she stopped but instead would encourage her to walk forward. She was a bit confused at first but quickly got the hang of it. I also made sure to be relaxed, keep my eyes ahead, use the reins lightly but purposeful, and keep my posture light. Overall, she did really well even though she was a bit apprehensive to the new methods I introduced, but I am pretty sure that over some time she will definitely get the hang of it. She also isn’t too comfortable around other horses and livestock and seeing that I have many, many other animals, I will have to desensitize her soon. —————— CREDITS Tack - @pooschthecoder and ghostsonqs Rider (with modifications) - @TheConjuring- Everything else - @aussieabby (meee)
